Obituary of Ralph Humphreys
Humphreys, Ralph Our feelings of loss are profound. Ralph passed away suddenly on December 25, 2010, at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Beryl (Evans) with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Loving father of Mark (Diane) and Peter and partner Bernadette (LeClair) Brother to David and Rita (deceased), Australia. Uncle to Linda (David) Knight and John (Julie) Humphreys, Australia. Brother-in-law to Margaret Todkill. Ralph was a cherished "Bompy" to his grandchildren, Jonathan, Alyssa, Chelsea and Brianna, whom he dearly loved. Born in Pontypool, Wales, he and his wife Beryl emigrated to Canada in 1957 and made Windsor a home for their family. Ralph was a Journeyman carpenter and was employed by several firms before going into business for himself as Ralph Humphreys Construction Ltd., which he maintained for 30 years.An avid boater, he sailed "Royal Tern" at the City Marina for many years before taking up kayaking up until the past year. A longtime member of Sun Parlor Radio Control Airplane Flyers, he took great pleasure in designing and building his own models. For many years he was a member of St.Barnabas Anglican Church. Ralph will be sorely missed by his closest friends, Chris and Norman Dancy, Lynne and Dave Kool, Susanne and Bob Makar, Rita and Peter Waters and Ron Lemon. Visitatation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd.E. (519) 253-7234 on Tuesday December 28, 2010 from 2-5/7-9pm.
