Obituary of Virginia May Rocheleau

ROCHELEAU, Virginia (Genevieve Therese) SNJM Nothing is as strong as gentleness; nothing so gentle as real strength. Sr. Virginia died peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital ( Met Campus), at the age of 73. She was in her 55th year of religious profession as a Sister of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Born in LaSalle, ON, she is predeceased by her beloved parents: Wilfrid and Celina (Lesperance). She will be sadly missed by her brother Clarence (Mae), her sister Pat St. Louis (Don), and brother-in-law Lorne Ryan. She is predeceased by her sisters Genevieve (1999), Jeannine (1987), and brother-in law Robert Amlin (2004). She will be missed by her devoted nieces, nephews, Grand-nieces, grand-nephews, one great-grand nephew, many cousins, friends, co-workers and Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Sr. Virginia taught at St. Mary"s Academy, was a nurse in the community infirmary, volunteered at the Hospice of Windsor and the Windsor Refugee Office. She resided at various convents in Windsor and Essex County throughout her life. With her effervescent and generous nature, she touched the lives and hearts of her family, relatives, friends, co-workers, refugees and SNJM Sisters. Visitation is at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E (519) 253-7234, Windsor, on Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 2-5 and 7-9, with prayers at 7:30pm, led by Sr. Phyllis Paquette SNJM. On Wednesday, Dec. 29, visitation will be at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, Amherstburg, ON from 10am - 11am. Fr. Joe Quinn CSB will be the celebrant of the Mass of Resurrection at 11am. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Windsor.
