Obituary of Duro Lalic

LALIC, Duro "George". Born March 29, 1933 in Gornji Varos Stara Gradiska, Hrvatska. Passed away suddenly into the arms of our Lord on December 5, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband and best friend to Katica (nee Svec) Lalic for 52 years. Loving and adored father to Julie and husband Zeljko Peretin , Tony and wife Wendy Lalic. Cherished Dido of Brittany, Stephanie, and Justin Peretin. Survived by brother Stipo and wife Maria Lalic. Dear uncle to Rosie and Ivica Cutic and family, George and Mandy Lalic and family, along with many nieces and nephews in Croatia. Dearest Kum to Slavko and Maria Granic and family and the Semenski family. George will be sadly missed by his many neighbours and friends. Reunited in Heaven with late parents Karla and Julka Lalic, and by sisters Kata, Anusa, and Jelena. Duro was an avid member of many Croatian organizations in Windsor and was a well known and respected home builder. A special thank you to the Windsor Renal Clinic at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, for your care over the years. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful groups of caring nurses at Met Hospital, 4 North, Dr. Peer and Dr. Zakaria for your care and compassion. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers Wednesday 8 pm. Funeral service on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 9:45 am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 am . Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation, Windsor Chapter, or Sveti Ilija Church in Gornji Varos, Croatia would be appreciated by the family.
