Obituary of John Schafer

SCHAFER, John (Hans) 87 years. Born in Hrastovac, Croatia on June 3, 1923. Passed away peacefully at his home on October 18, 2010 in the loving arms of his wife Kathi. Beloved husband of 67 years to Kathi (nee Faul). The only child of the late Johann and Maria (nee Muller). Loving and devoted father to Siegfried (Ziggy) Schafer. Cherished "Pa" to Duane and wife Nadean and Bret and wife Kat and loving "Opa" to Evan and Blake. John retired in 1982 from Dominion Forge after 30 years of dedicated service and was a member of first Lutheran Church and an active member of the Teutonia Club. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral services on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to First Lutheran Church or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
