Obituary of Joseph Carmel Busuttil

BUSUTTIL, Joseph Carmel Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 14, 2010 at Metropolitan Hospital four weeks shy of his 90th birthday, Beloved husband of Patrizia (nee Sullivan) of sixty years. Dear father of Cettina (Jerry) Czajkowski, Samuel Busuttil, Josephine (Marcel) Hinse, Frank (Irene) Busuttil, Carmen (Wayne) Hudson, Catherine (Greg) Farnham, Anna Charbonneau, Aloysia (late Robert) Dolman. Loving grandfather of John, Dina, Tina, Erica, Tania, Eric, Jean Paul (late), Marlo, Adam, Stephen, Patrick, Jessica, Michael, Mitchell, Christopher, Monique, Tristan, Corrina, Joel, Alyce, and Aaron. Loving great grandfather of Nathaniel, Maxwell, Reece, Jon, Ava, Sophia, Abigail, Ethan, Aidan, Amber, Anthony, Evan, and Tayla. Dear brother of Gigi (late), dear brother-in-law to the late Joe Sullivan and surviving wife Mary of Windsor, late sister-in-law Theresa and Vince Baker, and the late sister-in-law Rosa and George Attard of Malta. Survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Malta. Joseph in the Royal Navy for 23 years and served during World War II. He retired from the Royal Navy having achieved the rank of Petty Officer. The family immigrated to Canada in 1963. Joe was a Reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces, HMCS Hunter, Military Band, Musician for the Windsor Sympathy Orchestra in the 1970s. Mr. Busuttil retired from Chrysler in 1982. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #143. He was a devoted and active church member of Immaculate Conception Church, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Legion of Mary. He resided at Oak Park Terrace on North Service Road. His many passions in life was his family, music, flowers, and religion (prayers). Vistation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran"s Memorial Committee a Veteran"s service will be held on Friday, at 7 p.m. Parish prayers Friday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Peter's Seminary of London or the Charity of Choice.
