Obituary of Alvin Frederick Marentette

MARENTETTE, Alvin Sept. 25, 1934 - Sept. 6, 2010 Passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Leach/Meers). Loving father of David, step-father of Barbara, Greg and Jason Meers. Grandfather of Samantha Marentette and Christopher and Dustin Meers. Son of the late Roy and Alice Marentette. Dear brother of Robert and the late Sandra Brabec (Oriet), brother-in-law of Nancy (Joe) Barthelette, Robert (Sheila) Leach, Norman (Nancy) Leach, Diane Erdstein, Sue (Dennis) Gougeon, Linda (Pat) Brennan and Cheryl Raymond. Special uncle of Debra LaMantia, Solange Robinson, Anne Patrick, Jeff and Tony Marentette. Also survived by many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Al retired from Plant 6 after 30 years with Chrysler Canada. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, painting and the Maple Leafs. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel.
