Obituary of Anne Shaw

SHAW, Anne (nee Kuz) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a remarkable and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully at home July 31, 2010. Her beloved husband and best friend of sixty-four beautiful years George, was at her side and she was surrounded by her loving family. Beloved Mum to Judith and Alojz Hojski, Janice and Randy Bain. Cherished Gram of Kimberly and John Binder and Charles Bain. Special Great-Grandmother of Cole Binder. Anne will be sorely missed by those who were blessed to have known her and received her many kindnesses. She lived a life dedicated to her family, her church, and to enriching the lives of those around her. Anne was President of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League for eight years. Anne received Father Eugene Halitsky as new priest of Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church and presided over numerous church functions until her health began to limit her tireless activities outside her home. Anne turned her numerous talents and artistry towards enriching the lives of the family she loved so dearly, including knitting afghans to keep them warm. Her talents were limitless. She cared about nothing more than her family being happy, and devoted her life to them. She had a ready smile at all times for all who came in contact with her, from family to friends and to strangers. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, at any time, with a natural sense of humour and with comfort for all. Our family would like to extend our special thanks to Fran Rozeck, her devoted friend and hairdresser of over thirty years. We also wish to thank the staff of the CCAC, Fay Lawn, and special thanks to Joyce and Melissa - who provided comfort and tireless care for the past year. We would also like to thank her nurse Nella Pallero for her ceaseless efforts on Anne's behalf. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL) 1700 Tecumseh Rd.
