Obituary of Anthony Stephan Andrejicka

ANDREJICKA, Anthony (Tony) Stephan Born July 13, 1933 passed away suddenly at home on June 18th, 2010 in his 77th year. He is survived by Sue Walliser, his devastated life partner of 27 years. Beloved son of the late Anna and Ondrej Andrejicka. Dear brother to his late sisters Mary and Ann. Loved brother to the late Emil and Thomas. Dearly loved father of Chris (Linda, nee Wolf) Laurie Reid (Gord) and Brian. Cherished by his 4 grandchildren Laura, Eric, Jennifer and Nikki. He was born in Ilava, Czechoslovakia and raised in Windsor. He was a champion athlete, member of the AKO Football Canadian Champions 1952. He attended St. Joseph's High School and Assumption College in Windsor, as well as the University of Toronto, graduating from the University of Western Ontario and earning his post graduate degree in Labour Relations at Queens University. He was instrumental in developing the Meloche Monnex Alumni Affinity Program at Western which continues to raise substantial proceeds for the UWO sports programs. He had a successful business career founding Andrejicka -Rochon Retail Management Consulting Practice with partner Joel Rochon. He was often a featured key-note speaker with The Retail Council of Canada. His humour and passion for excellence in all his endeavours will be remembered by many whose lives he touched. He was "slow to anger and quick to forgive." Golf was one of his passions and he loved his weekly four-somes at both the National Golf Club in Woodbridge and the Toronto Board of Trade Country Club where he was a Past Chairman. Tony and Sue owned and operated Bear Creek Golf and Country Club in Strathroy for over 10 years. They traveled the world together spending many happy winters in Spain and Portugal. His faith was strong and his values were solidly founded in the Slovak work ethic with fondest memories of a delightfully happy childhood warmly within the close knit Slovak community of Windsor. He spent his last years in Sombra enjoying fishing and relaxing on his St. Clair River estate. On his very last evening on this precious Earth he enjoyed watching a spectacular river sunset, a glass of wine in hand with Sue and his niece Goldie at his side. Resting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (BANWELL CHAPEL) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. Visitation on Monday June 21, 2010 from 7-9pm & Tuesday from 3-5pm & 7-9pm. Parish prayers Tuesday at 7:30pm. On Wednesday June 23, 2010, Family and friends will be received at Good Shepherd Parish, (13789 St. Gregory's Rd.), Tecumseh, Ontario for visitation from 9:00am until time of funeral mass at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated.
