Obituary of Mary Koblosh
KOBLOSH, Mary (nee Mulawka)
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 10, 2020 at the age of 92. She was born December 18, 1927 in Ruda, Volyn, Ukraine. Loving wife of the late Peter (2009). Devoted mother of Lily (Robert) Schooley and Dr. Alex Koblosh (2004). Loving grandma to Dr. Stephanie (Dr. Tom) Chaney and Britt Schooley. Cherished great grandma to Kasey. Sister to Zina and Ivan Mulawka (1940) of Ukraine, and Ann Pawlyshyn (2016) of Ohio. Daughter to Sylvester and Sophia (nee Shotzka) Mulawka of Ukraine. Aunt to Dr. Peter Derkach of Toronto, Helen Smith of White Lake, MI and Olga Andolsen (2012) of Avon Lake, Ohio. She met and married Peter, her husband of 62 years, in Braunschweig, Germany. They immigrated to Malartic, Quebec in 1948. Her family settled in Windsor in 1950. In Canada, Mary started out as a seamstress, then Nurse’s Aide at Hotel Dieu Hospital where she finished as an OB Technician. Before retiring, she worked at General Motors Trim Plant and continued to sew for friends and family. She was a member of CAW Local 1973 and a member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church. Mary is finally at peace and happy to be reunited with her husband, Peter and her son, Alex. Special thanks to Chartwell Royal Oak Kingsville Residence for their exceptional care over the last six months and the final 4 days of palliative care. The staff were like family to all of us. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Saturday March 14, 2020 from 12:30 pm until time of Funeral Service beginning at 2:30 pm. Rev. Fr. Tom Hrywna officiating. Cremation to follow. Inurnment at a later date. In memory of Mary, donations to the Windsor Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated.
