Obituary of Marlene Marguerite Poole

POOLE, Marlene It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, Marlene Marguerite Poole on May 23, 2010. Born March 14, 1936 to Beatrice and Clarence Cosgrave, Marlene is survived by Brothers Gordon Cosgrave (2001) (Carol), Clarence Butch Cosgrave (Julie), and her sisters Diane Beckett (Barry), Valarie Armtstrong (Jimmy), and Beverly Scriver (Donald), as well as many loving nieces and nephews; in particular Beverly and Stewart. Marlene is also survived by her late husband and true love, John "Tom" Poole, Daughter's Janice Bondy, Lori (Jim Menard), Colleen Higgins and Son Trevor (Lauren). Specially remembered are Marlene's Grand Children who she loved dearly, Brennen and Mitchell, Kaitlin, and Meghan, Molly and Liam, and TJ. Marlene was a charming, gentle woman who was a vital part of Cosgrave's Pharmacy for many years and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She will be sadly missed by her acquaintances, friends, and family. You said we were your fairy tale princesses and Trevor your prince. In daily living, as in your final days you were so much larger than life; you were our angel and we your witnesses. Through all your pain and strife at times when life made you angry, still, words of gratitude you would proclaim I'm the lucky one, so, so lucky. Now the distance between heaven and earth holds us apart yet these boundaries have no end. We will hold these memories in our hearts for an eternity; you will forever be our mother, our protector, our love, .....our very best friend. Thank-you Mom for having the courage to take the chance on the unknown for enduring a pain unimaginable and for doing it all with dignity and grace. As your children we will always be grateful As human beings we will forever be mystified by your amazing strength. Rest in piece our sweet, sweet girl. Our family would like to acknowledge the exemplary care and kindness of the 3 East nursing staff at Windsor Regional Hospital. In particular, Joan, Carrie, Nicole, Donna, Mary-Anne, Sharon and all those who comforted our mother as well as our family; for this we will always be grateful. A private graveside ceremony will be held for Marlene. Arrangements entrusted to the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.
