Obituary of Leonard Francis Joinville

JOINVILLE, Leonard Francis Sept. 26, 1924 - May 12, 2010 Passed away peacefully after his struggle with cancer at Hospice Residential . Dedicated & loving husband of the late Theresa Joinville (nee Gravelle) Apr.2010, whom he was married for 62 years. Proud & loving Dad of 4 adopted children Jeannette Parent & Bruce Surette, David Joinville & Rebecca Graef, Louise Lewis & husband Brad and Mark Joinville & wife Karen. Dear father in law of the late Gerry Parent (2002) , Susie Joinville (1994). Cherished Pepe of Keith & wife Heather Parent, Marcel & wife Lana Parent, Brian Parent, Michael Lewis & fianc" Jennifer Lively, Matthew Lewis, Melissa Lewis, Tiffany Daley and Corey Joinville he was a big part of their lives & will be missed greatly. Precious great pepe to Noah, Simon, Liam, Hailey and Sean. Loving son of the late Edward & Loda Joinville. Dear brother of the late Hector & wife Rita, Bob and sister Virginia. Dear brother-in-law of Doris Joinville,Theresa Joinville, Rita Pereira & her late husband Tiago, Gerard Gravelle & wife Verna and Simonne Sureau . Survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Leonard served with the Canadian Army in WWII, former employee of Ford Motor Company, retiree from the City of Windsor (Public Works Dept.) after 30 years of dedicated service. Leonard's joys in life were playing cards at the K of C & St. Theresa's Church, bowling at the Playdium and spending time with his loving family. He will be truly missed by his family, he blessed us with enough memories for a lifetime. A heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff of Devonshire Retirement Home, and to our angels at Hospice Residential for guiding us through our journey with our beloved Dad. Visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd East (519-253-7234) on Sunday May 16, 2010 from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. Parish prayers Sunday at 4:00 p.m., a veterans service Sunday at 7:30 p.m.under the auspices of the Windsor Memorial Veteran's Committee. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Theresa Church for Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
