I first met Bill 27 years ago when he hired me for my first summer job. He then hired me again and helped me start my career at the City of London and then helped again when I started as a consultant many years later. My first job was during the recession and so few people were able to get jobs. He made sure I was given a chance. Bill always had time to listen to my concerns and give me the best advice. Although I lost track of Bill over the years I can say that he truly made a difference in my life as a mentor and started me on my career as a planner. I could not have had the opportunities I did without him. Although I many times expressed my gratitude to him for all he did for me it will never be enough. may he rest in peace.
I worked with Bill at North York in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. I was always impressed with Bill’s depth and breath of knowledge, not just on planning, but any and many subjects. Hi Terry; so sorry to hear the news of Bill passing. Much sympathy and condolences to you and family. Bill knew just about every "good" restaurant in SW Ontario and freely shared a lot of them with me. He loved schnitzel! We had many enjoyable daytrips to indulge the cravings. I will miss him. I worked with Bill at the Lambton County Planning Department during his tenure there from 1977 to 1988. I was always impressed with Bill’s expansive knowledge about planning and appreciated his support as Director of the Department.
