APPLEYARD, Robert Albert "Bob" January 27, 1944 - May 3, 2010 After 8 years of determination, perseverance, courage and strength, we are forced to say Good Bye to a wonderful man. Beloved husband and Best Friend of 29 years to Carol (Surgent). Cherished father of Michele (Brian), Betty Jo, Tammy (Nick), Cheri, Adam (Brandi). Predeceased by his father Bert (1999) and mother Elsie (1967). Survived by his loving and supporting "mum" Dorothy. Survived by his brothers William and the late Mary Lou (2005), Reg (Marion). Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Joshua, Jade, Ashley, Robbie, Kaitlyn, Alexandra, Brooke, Brittany, Lucian and Brenna. Predeceased by mother-in-law Patricia Lake (2003) and father-in-law Robert Lake (2006).Survived by his in-laws Bill (Liz), Marilyn, Pat (Don), David (Jan), Barb (Dave) and Ken. Bob was blessed with a great family including nieces, nephews and many friends. He will be missed by his feline companion "Baby Buttons." Bob was the youngest son of Bert Appleyard of British Motorcycles and Cars which inspired his love of dirt bikes, motorcycles and racing. He thoroughly enjoyed following the Windsor Spitfires and Nascar racing. He was an avid bowler with the Garage Operators. He enjoyed his motorcycle rides with the 'Blue Knights Ontario Chapter III". Bob was a loving, supportive, strong and a brave man whose family was his "everything". He is and will forever be our HERO! The family would like to thank Dr. Bagga, Dr. Kadri, Dr. Callaghan, Rose Kadri N.P. and the Dialysis Unit. Also, Dr. Chetty, Debbie Rickeard N.P. at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. J. Chin at Victoria Hospital of London, Dr. McKenzie, his surgical staff, and the ICU at University Hospital of London. Without the excellent care, dedication and support of these teams; we wouldn't have had him for these last 8 years. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Cremation to follow. If you so desire, donations may be made to the Dialysis Unit or the Cardiac (Cath) Lab at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital.
