Obituary of Anne Buksa

Buksa, Anne (nee Bodiul) Born in Windsor on February 29, 1924. Passed away peacefully and in comfort with her grandchildren by her side on May 1, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Reunited with her beloved late husband Walter (1964) of Detroit. Dearest mother to Bill and wife, Diane (nee Wachna). Loving Baba to Laura, Christine, Victoria and Nick all of Harrow. Predeceased by her baby sister Wasuluna (1925) and her mother and father Maria (1972) and Wasile (1965) Bodiul. Anne was a retired secretary at Wayne State University. She enjoyed her retirement working in her garden, ushering at the Chrysler Theatre with friend Helen, performing volunteer work and singing in the church choir at St. Vladimir"s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral where she was a devoted life-long member and will be sadly missed. Mom was also an active and past executive member of the Ukrainian Women"s Association of Canada, Lesia Ukrainka Windsor Branch and could be found most Wednesdays making pyrohy with her dear friends. Visitation will be held at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E, Windsor 519-253-7234 on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Panakhyda prayers at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are asked to gather at St. Vladimir"s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 2000 Tecumseh Rd. E on Tuesday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. for the funeral liturgy service. Fr. Pawlo Berezniak officiating. Interment Windsor Grove Cemetery.
