Obituary of Frank Kuznik

KUZNIK, Frank August 25, 1927 - April 11, 2010. Passed away peacefully on April 11, 2010 at Banwell Gardens Nursing Home. Beloved husband of 52 years to Mary (nee Poreber). Loving father to Mary Matos and husband Andy of Windsor, Frank J. Kuznik of Mississauga, Peter Kuznik and wife Linda of Coldwater, ON. and Susan Kuznik of Calgary, Alberta. Cherished grandfather,"Ata", to Alena, Erik, Megan, Kyle and Cassie. Predeceased by parents Franc (1987) and Angela (1987) Kuznik. Dear brother to Marjan Kuznik of Slovenia. Also survived by a nephew, niece and cousin Fr. Jos" Kuznik of Slovenia and several cousins in Cleveland, Ohio. Frank was an employee of the former Dominion Forge for 35 years and most recently retired from the Windsor-Essex Separate School Board. Although Alzheimer"s affected his late years, Frank will be remembered for his love of singing and oil painting, strong religious faith, physical strength and willingness to help a friend or neighbour. A survivor of the WWII concentration camp in former Yugoslavia and active founding member of Windsor Slovenian Cultural Club "Zvon" and St. Francis of Assisi Church. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parish prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the Windsor Chapel then to St. Francis of Assisi Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund, Alzheimer's Society of Windsor-Essex County or Mass Offerings would be appreciated by the family.
