Obituary of Teresa Pugliese
PUGLIESE Teresa (nee Covelli) On Friday January 15, 2010, at Malden Park Continuing Care Centre, and surrounded by her loving family, Teresa Pugliese (nee Covelli) joined her loving husband Vince (December 2006), and was welcomed into the loving arms of God. Most cherished mother to Stella Occhinero; Della and husband Richard Pellarin; and Eugene "Jimmy" and wife Mary Pugliese. Loving and gentle "Nonna Teresa" to her grandchildren : Maria Clara and Eric Schabo; Teresanna and Jack Gebrael; Saverio Occhinero, Jesse, Kory, Adam, Aaron and Deana Pellarin and Richard Jr., & Alanna Pellarin, Teresa, Natalina, Daniela, Vanessa and " Little Vince" Pugliese. Proud and loving Bis-Nonna to Avalina, Marcello and Marciano. Dera sister of the late Chiara and husband Saverio Occhinero, formerly of Italy; Agata of Niagra Falls, Ontario and her late husband Carmine Covelli; Carmela of Toronto, and her late husband Salvatore Covelli; Lina of Windsor, and her late husband Giuseppe Covelli; and Emma and Luigi Covelli, of Toronto. Cara Zia of Countless nieces and nephews. God must have needed another angel in Heaven, for he has taken our angel on earth out of her suffering. Teresa, along with her beloved husband, the late Vicenzo, her sister Lina, and her late husband Giuseppe Covelli opened La Stella Supermarket on Erie Street on October 28, 1969. Along with their children and families, they have continued to operate the store with the same degree of family involvement and dedication, that has been displayed since it's opening. Teresa's real life accomplishment was her family. When it came to taking care of them, she made sure that she would cook enough for everyone twice over, and that their favourite foods were always on the table. Her delicious recipes will no doubt be attempted, but never totally reproduced, as they will be lacking her loving hand. Our Mama loved to sing and laugh at family gatherings, and Nonna's giving nature and contagious laughter will echo in our hearts forever. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Malden Park Continuing Care Centre, especially the Nursing Staff of 1 North, for their genuine care and compassion.
