Obituary of Marilyn Rawlins

RAWLINS, Marilyn W. (nee Petruniak) Age 60. Fallen asleep in the Lord, suddenly, on January 3, 2010. A loving and generous woman, Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Alison nieces Ann, Wendy and husband Tom; sister-in-law & friend Carol, and many cousins, friends and neighbours whom she held dear. Most often found leaning on the kitchen counter next to a pot of coffee, Marilyn was a go-to person for straight answers and honest advice. No one would ever leave hungry when they came because there was always space at the table & plenty of really good food. Active in the church for many years, she helped wherever she could. Whether working a dinner or planting & weeding in the garden, things would go on schedule & turn out great! A surrogate mom to many young people who walked through her door, everyone knew her to be a funny, kind-hearted woman even if she was disinclined to believe it herself. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd., East Wednesday January 6, 2010 from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Prayers Wednesday at 7:30 pm. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 7, 2010 at Descent of The Holy Ghost Romanian Orthodox Church for visitation from 11:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Fr. Simeon Catau officiating. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
