Obituary of Donald Earl Douglas

DOUGLAS, Donald Earl. Passed away at his home on December 4th, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of 56 years to Claire (nee menard). Loving father of Kathy Beattie and Wes Snider, Deb and Nick Rogers, Dan and Sandy Douglas, Beth and Lloyd Bryant, Bob Douglas and Jan Pantia, Paul Douglas, Don and Lisa Douglas, Karen and Glen Belleau, and Sharon and Steve Demers. Proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Noreen Myers and several nieces and nephews. Don worked for the City of Windsor Parks Department for 26 years and contributed to much of the beauty that is seen in City parks today. A skilled woodworker and avid gardener, he was most proud of his family. His sense of humour, generous heart, and quiet nature will be sadly and deeply missed by all. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Vincent de Paul Church, followed by inurnment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House (London), the St. Vincent de Paul Society (for the poor) c/o St. Vincent de Paul Church or the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation of Canada.
