Obituary of Archibald Paul Cormier

CORMIER, Archibald Paul Passed away peacefully on November 3, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of 60 years and best friend to Doreen (nee Jacob). Predeceased by his parents William and Daisy Cormier and his daughter Janice (2008). Archie will be greatly missed by his surviving children; Gary (Debbie), Dave, Randy, Allan (Violeta), Archie (Susan), Mickey (Bill Magone), Frank, Lisa (Chris Cunning). Father-in-law to Mike Fleury and "adopted children" Maurice and Rachel Morneau. Loving Pepe to Brandon (Monique), Lyndsay (Denver), Stephen (Tonia), Dale, B.J., Matthew, Nathan, Christopher, Alisha, Justine and Wesley. Great Pepe to Damon, Kristen, Marcus and Nate. Archie is also survived by his sister Audrey Dimmitt and sister-in-law Mary Anne Cormier, brothers-in-law Clyde (Pari) Jacob, Adrian (Elinor) Jacob, Dan (Sharon) Jacob. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Archie has now been reunited in Heaven with his brothers Walter and Alvin, sisters Mildred Martin, Adeline, Esther and in-laws Louise and Alexander Jacob, Wendell Dimmitt, Leo Martin, Richard and Hilda Jacob, Georgette and Wilfred Riberdy, Anita Jacob, Bernard and Leonard Jacob. Archie was a retiree from General Motors and a Brentwood Alumnus who had a wonderful sense of humour and will be remembered for his "chicken" jokes. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 and Moose Lodge 1499. The family would also like to thank the staff of Heron Terrace (Meadows Lane) for the exceptional care and compassion provided to Archie and his family. In accordance with Archie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Service Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Fr. Paul Charbonneau officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Brentwood Recovery Home or the Alzheimer"s Society of Windsor would be appreciated.
