Obituary of Joseph David Landriault

LANDRIAULT, Joseph "Dave" Peacefully on October 30, 2009 at Heron Terrace in his 90th year. Predeceased in death by his mother and father and 9 sisters and 4 brothers. Predeceased by his wife Sophie of 52 years (2004). Stepfather to Pauline Moore and her late husband Joseph "Bud". Grandfather to Mary Catherine Daragon and her husband Tom, John Moore and his wife Kelly, and Marc Moore and his wife Karen. Great Papa to 7 great-grandchildren, Mallory, Zachary and Patrick Daragon; Katie and Kasey Moore; and Colin and Caleb Moore. Remembered by brothers-in-law Edwin and Edward (2008) Kornacki. Survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dave enjoyed belonging to many square dancing groups in Windsor for a great many years. He was a Director of the Windsor Municipal Employees Credit Union for 29 years. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces and served in the 2nd World War, being schooled in the mechanical trade which led to him becoming a foreman for the City of Windsor until his retirement. Dave was an active parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, participating as a lay reader, usher, a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, an on-call handyman and a "Dave"-of-all-trades. He enjoyed working as a Bee Keeper and found it most interesting and fascinating, and his favourite past-time kept him close to the soil. Dave loved watching hockey and playing cards with friends. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Monday, November 2, 2009 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Prayers Monday at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are requested to meet Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd. at Wyandotte E.) from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
