Obituary of MacDonald Whittle Duncan

DUNCAN, MacDonald W. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, on July 26, 2009, at the age of 91 years. Reunited with his beloved wife Celeste (2008). Loving father to John and wife Mary Lou Duncan and predeceased by son Tim Duncan and daughter-in-law Lauren Duncan (2000). Cherished grandpa to Brian and wife Cheryl Duncan and Kathleen and husband Peter Coyles. Great -grandpa to Ashley and Emily Coyles, and Kevin and Rachel Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a veteran of WW II serving as a Platoon Sargent with the Essex Scottish and Algonquin Regiments. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday at 7 p.m. A Veterans Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee will take place on Tuesday at 4 p.m. Family and friends will be received for visitation on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St. at Cedarview) from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a Charity of your choice.
