What can I say about you, Meme? You were a loving, open, stubborn, ‘say exactly what’s on your mind’ type of woman. You were incredibly strong, and the glue that held your entire gigantic family together. You were fiercely independent and healthy, even in your last days. I’m so glad that life brought my family back to Windsor, where we could spend so many years seeing you often. Weddings, showers, house warmings, christmases, birthdays, New Year’s Eve parties, Easters, Thanksgivings, pool parties, Caribbean vacations, pregnancies, new babies, driving back from Thunder Bay... you were there for it all. I’ll never forget the countless Christmas Eves as a kid we spent at your house with the whole family, where you would cook huge fantastic meals (and of course meat pies)... The stool I would sit on, where you would serve me ice cream through the window in your kitchen (even though I was too shy to ask)... Waking up in the morning camping with my family and sneaking over to your RV with Dan for cereal and go-fish. Although it is very hard to let you go, I know that you are finally at peace in Pepe’s loving arms. I hope that you always knew how much you meant to me, even though I’ve never been good at expressing it. You will always live on in our hearts.
