Obituary of Theodar Chmara

CHMARA, Ted. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a dear husband, father and grandfather on July 7, 2009 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of 50 years to Olive (nee Krawetz). Loving and devoted father to Elizabeth (Lisa) Enwright and husband Craig of Glencoe, ON; Sandra (Sandy) Chmara-Meloche and husband Greg of Windsor; Richard (Rick) Chmara and wife Gina of Woodstock, ON. Adoring Grandpa to Lauren, Shannon, Amanda and Alexander and step-grandfather to Brandon and Mitchel. Cherished brother to Walter Chmara (late Carol), Daniel Chmara (Joan), Elsie Harasymko (Nick). Predeceased by sisters Olga, Mary and Anne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ted was a retired employee of the Windsor Utilities Commission. Olive and Ted were owners of Gil's Paint Centre for 25 years. He served with the Royal Canadian Regiment (2nd Battalion) (RCEME) and was a member of Sun Parlor Wood Carvers Club. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Fr. Richard Hawrish officiating. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral or St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family.
