Obituary of Dolores Eleanor Mildred Doherty

DOHERTY, Dolores (nee Garrod) Surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter Pam and son-in-law Bill Banks, our angel got her wings today on July 6, 2009 in her 78th year. She finally soared away with love and affection all around her. Dolores is deeply mourned by her loving husband, Keith of 59 years. Much loved mother of Linda and her husband Calvin of Rosseau, Michael, Richard and his wife Valerie, Pamela and her husband Bill Banks, Allan and his wife Judy and Cheryl and her husband Korry Rowland. She leaves behind 3 sisters Nancy (Madore), Shirley (Doherty), Valerie Schmidt) and 2 brothers, John Garrod, Robert Garrod and brothers and sisters-in-law. Predeceased by her parents Burton Garrod (1967) and Doreen (nee Labadie) Garrod (1976), her sisters Hazel Court, Betty Lou Garrod and her brothers Donald (1947) and Ernest Garrod (1945). Cherished and adored by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended families and friends. Dolores along with her husband and family operated many variety stores and restaurants in the Amherstburg, Puce and McGregor areas. She will always be loved by those whose lives she touched. The family wished to thank and are very grateful for the wonderful care they provided to Dolores making her as comfortable as posible in her last days. Dr Li Won Po, Dr. Kizis, Dr. Krooner, RN's and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Campus, palliative care nurses, PSW's (her dedicated caregiver - Lidia), CCAC (Danielle), Pro Resp (Antonio), Sobey's Drug Store (Lincoln), Bayshore Home Health (Elizabeth, Nancy, Joanne and Danielle). In accordance with Dolores wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 12 - 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Dolores to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Campus would be greatly appreciated by the family.
