I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Wayne for many years through his employment at Shurlok as it is my family's business. He was at all times very sweet and caring about others. He was very proud of his boys. Anytime he talked about them his face lit up like a candle. Although I have not met his wife to be Diana, I know her loss is great and I send my prayers to her and the family. I was out of town during this tragic event and feel terrible that I was not here to say good to Wayne as I considered him a loving caring friend. I will miss him! Linda Lane

Wayne will be sadly missed by many including his friends at the University of Windsor. I have gotten to know Wayne over the past few years particularly working with him with OPUS. He was a genuine, caring and good person who made others around him feel valued. I hope at this difficult time you can find comfort in remembering Wayne during the happy memories and his humour which often brightened everyones day. Anthony

Dusty & Der, my other sons (just like Kyle was Wayne's other son); Your father was so proud of you boys....never forget that. Continue to make him proud by being the special men you are. Wayne lived far beyond his 42 years. He lived his life to the fullest while accomplishing more than some twice his age. He has many adventures to continue with his Lord! May peace be with all of you in the days to come, Love Erin & family

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. Wayne lived life like everyone should, live, laugh & love to the fullest, we could all learn some life lessons from him. We are praying for Derek, Dan & Dustin and the rest of your family. Diana, Kathryn, and all of Wayne's family, First of all, please accept my deepest sympathy for your sudden loss of Wayne. Diana, when I worked at ICS, and I would see Wayne come to the office to see you, I never knew he was a Girard. I just always knew him as your super friendly, great looking boyfriend Wayne!!! On Sunday, my sister called me to tell me how shocked and upset she was that a great guy that she went to grade school with had passed suddenly. When she said the name Wayne Girard I was shocked. It turns out my sister went to school with Wayne. My sister said that Wayne was the sweetest, nicest guy ever and was always smiling; and when they were in grade school, she remembers how he loved chocolate chip cookies!! She has ran into him throughout the years, and she said he was always smiling and always giving her the updates of his life and his kids that he was so proud of. What a small world!! My sister and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away." Take Care, Maureen Curtis

I am very surprised and deeply saddened by the loss of Wayne Girard this week. I am sure that this will have a heavy impact on his family, but I feel that it is important for you to know the significance of his contributions to students across Ontario and Canada. Wayne got involved in the student movement later than most of us, when he became active in the University of Windsor Organization of Part-Time University Students. However, he also attended a number of national and provincial meetings of the Canadian Federation of Students, where he played a confident and compassionate role in raising awareness of the need for affordable education and student rights in Canada. Wayne was a humble and supportive person who will be deeply missed by students on campuses across the country. On a personal level, I will miss discussions with Wayne that were always full of ideas and passion.
