Obituary of John Raymond Smith

SMITH, John (Jack) 85 years. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John (Jack) Smith on Good Friday, April 10, 2009. The beloved husband and best friend for almost 60 years of the late Doris (nee Young), loving father of Debra and husband Nick Dzudz and son John and wife Donna Smith, dear grandfather of John Dzudz and Kelly and Alex Smith and loved brother of Maureen Queenen. Jack was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Martha Smith, his brothers Ruhl, Keith, Ralph and his sister Gail Allan. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Sue and Kay Smith, Diane Gillis and Ruth Paltridge. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Jack was a Veteran of World War II and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 94. It was his wish that there be no service so his family has chosen to remember and celebrate his life privately. Cremation has taken place and his remains along with those of his beloved wife will be interred at Windsor Grove Cemetery at a later date. A special heartfelt thank you to the hospital staff of 6 North of Windsor Regional Hospital, Met. Campus and Windsor Chapel Funeral Home for their help and compassion throughout this very difficult time. There will always be a special place in each of our hearts where he will live on.
