Obituary of Joseph Nazaire Remi Rivard

RIVARD, JOSEPH Peacefully with his family at his side on April 9, 2009. Reunited with his beloved wife Doreen (nee Bilon ) (1976). Cherished dad of Rose Rivard, Rick Rivard & Nadya, Roger J. Rivard & wife Candy, Judy Davidson & husband Geoff and Ken Rivard & wife Ingrid. Loving grandpa to 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters. Loving son of the late Ernest T. Rivard & wife Marie Louise ( nee Jacques ). Joe was actively involved in the Hiram Walker Community with the organization , coordination and design of many ( parade ) floats for various festival parades which were held in Windsor, including Master of Ceremony for other Hiram Walker Events. He was a longtime member of the Windsor Light Opera Company and was a WWII- Veteran serving with the Canadian Army. Visitation at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home 1700 Tecumseh Rd East on Monday 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM. Parish Prayers Tuesday at 4:00 PM . A Veteran's service wil be held on Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM in the Windsor Chapel under the Auspices of The Windsor Veteran's Memorial Committee. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd ) on Wednesday April 15, 2009 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of the Ressurection at 10:30 AM. Cremation to follow. A private interment will take place at a later date. In kindness memorial donations may be made to Hospice Residence c/o Hospice of Windsor & Essex County .
