Obituary of Virginia Solcz

SOLCZ, Virginia (nee Ulicny) Passed away peacefully on March 13, 2009, with her family at her side, at Malden Park Continuing Care Centre, at the age of 82 years. Beloved wife of Steve. Dear mother of Richard and Mary Ann, Steve and Mary, Debbie Ternovan, and Anne Marie and Bill Davidson and former son-in-law Gary Ternovan. Loving grandma of Justin, Renee, Lindsay and fiance Andrew Metcalfe, Steven, Ashley, Ryan, Michael and Kelly. Dear sister of Mary and Bob Dowdell, John and Nancy, Jim and Anne, of Ottawa. Beloved sister-in-law of Helen and the late Bill Slavik, Mike and Doreen Solcz, Mary and the late Morris Verhaeghe and Agnes and Roger Marentette. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Justine Ulicny and in laws Michael and Anna Solcz. Virginia was a member of the C.W.L. (St. Cyril's Church) and Jednota. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, on Tuesday March 17, 2009 from 2 - 5 and 7 -9 p.m. Prayers Tuesday at 8 p.m. Funeral Service Wednesday March 18, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home, then to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice of Windsor, would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of 3rd floor Malden Park, Palliative Care, C.A.C.C. workers, Hospice, St. Elizabeth nurses and the Transition to Betterness Program.
