Obituary of Mario Bortolin

BORTOLIN Mario Passed away peacefully at Regency Park Lodge, on Friday February 6, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband and soulmate of 57 years to Ida (nee Breda). Dear father of Maurisio Bortolin and wife Monika; Nancy and husband Tarcisio Franzoi; and Clara Bortolin, all of Windsor. Caro Nonno of Deeanna and Karoline Bortolin; and Cassandra, Catrina and Christopher Franzoi. Dear brother Diletta and Amelio, and the late Rino and Giovanna, all formerly of Italy, the late Luigi and his late wife Palmira; and the late Angelo and his surviving wife Margherita, all of Windsor. Mr. Bortolin is survived, and pre-deceased by many cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and Australia. Mario was retired following more than 30 years of service as a Tile Setter with Colautti Brothers on Howard Avenue, and was a longtime and faithful member of the Fogolar Furlan Club of Windsor. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd., East on Sunday February 8, 2009 from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Prayers Sunday at 7:30 pm. Funeral Service Monday February 9, 2009 at 8:45 from the Funeral Home, then to St. Angela Merici Church for funeral mass at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
