Obituary of Rita Maria Brusco

Brusco, Rita Maria (nee Stancato) Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, on January 17, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 54 years. Beloved wife of Salvatore. Loving mother of Franca Jee and husband Kevin, Patrizia Brusco-Teti and husband Giovanni, and Roberto Brusco all of Windsor. Predeceased by her parents Achille and Angela Stancato. Cherished Nonna of Massimo Teti and Selina Jee and one grandchild on the way. Dear sister to Anna and husband Matteo Veltri of Argentina, Rosina and husband Settimio Petrungaro of Italy, Francesco Stancato and wife Dora of Switzerland, Ada and her late husband Francesco Valentini of Italy, Emma Chiaro and sister-in-law to Leonardo Chiaro of Italy and Grazia and husband Antonio Caputo of Italy. Also survived by brother-in-law Pino Brusco and wife Maria of Italy. Dear daughter-in-law of Francesca Brusco. Predeceased by her father-in-law Buonaventura Brusco. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rita loved her children dearly, and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, and spending time tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Rita recently became a Canadian Citizen in the spring of 2008, which she and her entire family are very proud of.The family wish to thank all those who cared for Rita at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus and at the Cancer Clinic, the VON nurses especially Cherie and Linda, C.C.A.C., and Cheryl from Hospice. Special thanks to family and friends for their support and also to healing ministers, Vicky and Avel Carino for their prayers. Funeral Service on Wednesday January 21, 2009 at 8:45am from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
