Obituary of Harold Dean Rankin
RANKIN- Dean Passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 7, 2009 at the age of 83. Loving and devoted husband of Lillian (Nee McAngus) of 58 years. Dear father of Gary and wife Valerie (Nee Hopkinson). Adored grandfather of Lauren and husband Paul Kita, Gerrod and Geoff Rankin. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Lena Rankin. Dear brother of the late Allan Rankin and survived by wife Ruth, Late sister Noreen Stevens, Ruth and husband Ted Beattie, Carolyn and husband Stewart Medley. Dear brother in law of the late Jacqueline McAngus, late Douglas McAngus and survived by his wife Madeline, Gary McAngus and wife Divina. Dear uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dean was a former office manager of Inter-City Truck Lines with 45 years of service. He was a devoted member and dedicated deacon of Olivet Baptist Church for many years. After his retirement Dean spent many countless hours volunteering at Huron Lodge. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME LTD. 1700 Tecumseh Road East on Friday January 9, 2009 from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral services on Saturday January 10, 2009 at 10:00am in the chapel. Rev. Dr. Alex Moir officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to Dr. Morsi and the caring nurses on the CCU 4th floor at Hotel Dieu Hospital and also to the wonderful staff of Chateau Park Nursing home for their wonderful and compassionate care to Dean.
