Obituary of Michelina Gesuale

GESUALE, Michelina Sementilli. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michelina Sementilli Gesuale on January 2, 2009 at the age of 78 years. Michelina was a wonderfully kind and gentle woman who loved her family and friends. She was born in Ripi, Frosinone, Italy in 1930 and was the 8th and last child of Luigi and Caterina. Michelina married her wonderful husband Giovanni (John) and emigrated to Canada in 1956 to join him. They enjoyed a blessed life together in their adopted country. John predeceased her in 1984 and has finally been reunited with his beloved Michelina. Michelina's life was richly blessed with loving family, great friendships and close ties to the community. In addition to John, she is predeceased by an infant daughter, Catherina (1969), father Luigi (1956), mother Caterina (1976), siblings Piero (1974), Iolanda (1959), Rosa (1999) and brother in law Tony Gesuale (1991). Michelina is survived by her daughter Mary Lou and husband Robert Shannon, and grandson Tate; all of Calgary, Alberta. She is also survived her brother Pietro, sisters Maria and Antonia; all of Italy. Dear sister in-law to Lino (Sistina), Angelo (Maria), Natale (Sina), Piacentina (Mario), Maria (late George), and Cesira (late Guido). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Michelina was a retired employee of Grace Hospital with over 20 years of dedicated service and a member of Ciociaro Club and St. John Vianney Church. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 2 - 5 and 7 -9 p.m. Prayers Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St. at Cedarview) for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
