I extend my deepest condolences to Leisha's family. I remember spending much time with her and her mom at their house on Rosedale when I was a little girl, as well as, numerous events at the UNO hall. She will be greatly missed.

I am sad to learn about p. Leisha's passing. I met her in 2002 and I visited her house near the Ambassador Bridge many times over the following couple of years. I remember her fondness for cats and for the Stratford Festival. Most recently, I filmed p. Leisha for the Ukrainian Women's Organization tea talk video that can be viewed at https://unfcanada.ca/affiliates/ukrainian-womens-organization-of-canada/ RIP p. Leisha.

My deepest sympathy to Leisha's extended family. I have been privileged to call Leisha a friend for many years, firstly as teaching colleagues with abuting classrooms, then as a book club companion who inspired and taught us with her enlightening reading selections, none more powerful than Babi Yar. In her last weeks, we shared many stimulating conversations; her body was failing her, but never that brilliant mind! Leisha was my Grade 11 and 12 English teacher at Massey. She taught me to write and edit like a pro, a skill I have passed along to both of my children. I had the opportunity to visit with her at Hospice. We continued a conversation we had started in 1982, 43 years ago, like it was yesterday. To be remembered so many years later was an honour. May her memory be a blessing, and especially among those who seek and share education and knowledge.

I knew Ms. N as a student in her English class at Massey SS. Once I grew up, I became a teacher and a colleague albeit in another city. When we saw each other over the years, I always greeted her as Ms. N, even though she told me to call her by her first name. We appreciated our Ukrainian heritage through all the years and would talk about it even when at Massey. I forgot to mention, she was my teacher supervisor as editor for Pegasus, our Massey yearbook. I always respected her direction and support. I will always remember her with fondness and great respect. Вічна їй пам’ять! May her memory be eternal! My deepest condolences to the family of Leisha. I worked with her on the Ukrainian Canadian Congress for a few years and got to know her there. Leisha was a kind and intelligent woman who was always concerned about her heritage and Ukrainian events. God rest her soul and may her memory be eternal. Vichnaya pamyat!
