Obituary of Miran Strukan

Miran Strukan was born on November 26th, 1954 in Zagreb, Croatia to parents Domagoj and Ivanka. He grew up in Novi Sad, Serbia with his younger sister Dubravka.

While attending University for Civil Engineering he met his future wife Zorica. They got married and had two children, Darko (Melissa) and Igor (Laura).

The family moved to Canada in 1989. He continued to work as a civil engineer until 2010. Before and after retirement he enjoyed jogging, making wine, watching World Cup and Euro Cup soccer, camping and sudokus.

His true passion was his three grandchildren Athena, Domagoj and Aristella where he would read to them or attentively listen to them explain things. He was loved by his nieces Dushanka Stepanov-Crnkovic (Igor) and Gloria Cizmar (Stefan). His aunt and sponsor to Canada Tetka Mirica Magic and her children Damir Magic (Mary) and Ervin Magic (Karen) helped make a few month trying out of Canada into permanent residence.

Other family that was close to his heart were Maja Teodorovic (Ned) and their children Jovana and Olivera as well as Mirica's grandchildren Diana, Thomas, Robert and Diana. He will be sorely missed by everyone and remembered for his kind quiet demeanour and charming smile.

In respect of his wishes a private family service has taken place.
