Obituary of Sante Bagnarol

Sante was born in San Vito al Tagliamento, Italy on June 24, 1928 and passed away peacefully with his
family by his side on December 14, 2024 at the age of 96. 

He is survived by Maria, with whom he shared 74 years of marriage. Dear father to Roy (Mary-Lou), Nonno to Rob and Tony (Andrea), and proud Bis-Nonno to Mason and Mattea.

Sante immigrated to Canada in 1950, and arrived with only a cardboard suitcase. He worked hard on his uncle’s farm, and Maria was able to join him in 1951. He spent many years working as a construction labourer, picking up many skills from others. He was on the Executive Board of LIUNA Local 625 for a number of years, and was a longtime member of the Fogolar Furlan Club. In 1984 he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a home with a large piece of property. There he lovingly raised canaries, chickens, rabbits, and pheasants. He planted and cultivated many fruit trees, walnut trees and of course, his bountiful vegetable gardens.

A private family service will be held. On Friday, December 20 at 1:00 pm, friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of life luncheon at the Fogolar Furlan Club, North Service Rd.

The family would like to thank the staff on 5N at WRH Met Campus, particularly nurse Kaitlyn and Dr K. DeMarco for their compassionate care, as well as all of the staff at Chartwell Oak Park Terrace. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
