Obituary of Doris Eugenie Parent

Doris Parent (nee Bisnaire) passed away on her terms and in her own good time with family present at Elmwood Place Long Term Care Home in London. Doris was predeceased by her husband (Omer Parent 2013) and 6 sisters Bea, Aurelia, Corinne, Jeanne, Bernice, Joanne and 6 brothers, Philias, Paul, Raymond, Robert, Gerald (Carol) and Gerard (Janine). She is left to be remembered by her brothers Rene (Raymonde) and Joseph (Joanne). Remembered lovingly by “all my favourite sons” Guy (Tracey), Jerome (Peggy 2022) Philippe and Jacques (Maria), her grandchildren Chantal, Rejean, Adrienne Justin, Jean-Marc, Beatrice and great-grandchildren, Eli and Lucas with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Doris was born in Tilbury to Joseph and Eugenie Bisnaire who later moved to Point-aux-Roches from the early 1930’s and to LaSalle in 1954. While in her mid-forties and raising 4 boys with Omer, she registered for College to certify in Early Childhood Education tending to hundreds of children when she retired from the City of Windsor Day Care Centre at Wyandotte St. and McEwan in 1990. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women’s League.

Doris had a genuine love and fascination for nature in all its miraculous glory and wonderment. She was never more than an arm’s length away from the Holy Rosary. The most important thing in Doris’ life was her unshakable dedication to the Holy Trinity and the Virgin Mary whom she prayed to daily.

Planting a tree in her name would be a kind gesture that she would love but … a prayer for the repose of her soul is all that she would ever ask for.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.) 519-253-7234 on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Visitation will continue at St. Paul Parish (5885 Malden Rd.) on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 9:30am until the time of Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
