Obituary of Ilija Jancev

JANCEV, Ilija. It is with deep sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Ilija, a loving Husband, Father and Dedo, on December 1, 2024, at the age of 79. Beloved husband to Ljuba (nee Dorakovska) with whom she celebrated 41 years of marriage. Loving father to Steve Jancev and wife Corina, and Paul Dorakovski and wife Adina; all of Windsor. Cherished Dedo to Arianna, Mateo , and Tessa Jancev, Madison, Stephanie and Alana Dorakovska. Ilija is predeceased by his parents Eftim and Ilinka Jancev. Dear brother to Maria Gorsevski and late husband Zivko of Colorado, Dimitar Jancevski and wife Jordanka of Toronto, and Janco Jancevski and wife Slavica of Toronto. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in Canada and U.S.A. Ilija was a retired employee of Valiant Machine and Tool after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. Nicholas Macedonian Orthodox Church where he previously sat on the Board of Directors and volunteered his time to the many church community events. Ilija was very passionate about his home country of Macedonia and visited his family back home many times, since his arrival in Canada. He loved to listen to Macedonian music and Country music, enjoyed dancing, being a social butterfly and celebrating holidays with his family. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave., South Windsor (519) 253-7236 on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home then in procession to St. Nicholas Macedonian Orthodox Church (5225 Howard Ave., LaSalle) for Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County.
