My father-in-law John was a beautiful man. He had a unique style of self-assurance, living life by his own accord. The most authentic person I have known. It was clear he loved his children dearly. Speaking often of Nina (Nancy), there love of horses bonded them for life. Keeping close proximity to Darlene who always provided John with love and family dinners. And Bruce, his youngest child, who took care of every aspect of John's life. Bruce, you have been a good son and a good role model to Roman and Mira. God bless you. I have so many memories of my father-in-law. He was a grounding presence in my life for the past 29 years, it is truly a loss. My most recent fond memory of John is pitching in to shovel mulch with me. He was so strong! This was only a few summers ago. I will miss hearing him call Mira honey and giving her five dollars. I will miss seeing him on his front porch petting his beloved cat, Chinko. I asked John many questions about his life. I know that he was from Pivnice Serbia. That he was rooted in familial values. He often spoke of his mother Elizabeth whom he missed deeply. Often saying "she was such a good woman." In the end I know how hard it was for John to make sense of his health condition. I know now John; you are in peace alongside your mother and father. We love you and miss you. Your family.
