Obituary of Marijan Prekupec

Passed away peacefully in his 95th year, ending a generation.  Reunited with his beloved wife, Anna, nee Harag (2016).  Loving Tata of Katica (Kathy) and husband, Dean Pelzek and the late Misko (Mike) and wife, Cathy Prekupec.  Special Grandpa of Danielle, Amanda, Greg and Matt.  Cherished Great-grandpa of joy makers Nolan, Ethan, Payton, Logan and Abigajl.  Marijan was born in Croatia and immigrated to Canada almost 70 years ago in search of new opportunities.  In time he met his soulmate, Anna, and worked tirelessly to create a good life for his family, establishing himself in the trades especially at Kelsey-Hayes in Windsor.  He was a faith-filled devoted family man, jack-of-all-trades and master of many, found often tinkering with something mechanical, working in his lush gardens, swimming with his grandchildren or playing the harmonica to the delight of his great-grandchildren.  The family would like to express its gratitude to Marijan’s earthly angels, Prudence, Raul and Mae for their abundance of kindness and support the last several years and also to Dr. O’Neill for his exceptional compassion and care. Family and friends will be received at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 8:45am until time of funeral mass at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
