FILIPIC, Timothy (Tim)
Passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2024 at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. He is survived by his wife Melissa Filipic (nee Loncar), with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Dear son to the late Evica (Vid) Filipic and son-in-law to Stana (late Michael) Loncar. Loving father to Michael (Ashley) and Jovan (Victoria) Filipic. Dear brother to Joanne Filipic-Hinchcliffe (late Peter), Venka Macintrye (late Dr. Ian), and the late Dr. Ray Borota. Brother in-law to Anne (Milos) Saravolatz. Beloved uncle to Dushanka (Vojo) Bojicic, Sam (Liz) Saravolatz, Eve (Hagen) Saville, Allan (Zheng) Macintrye, Anthony (Leslie) Macintrye, Nicole, Roddy, Michael, David, and Lanci Borota. In his early years, Tim was an active member of the Gracanica Church Choir. In his later years, he served as Vice-President for the ECSA and administrator to the ECSL. Over his lifetime, Tim had several careers with the most recent being a secondary occasional teacher with the GECDSB. Tim enjoyed traveling, swimming laps, exercising at the gym, reading, and family gatherings over delicious home-cooked meals! The family would like to recognize the outstanding care that Tim received from all the staff at the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (T2B Palliative Care Unit), Windsor Regional Hospital (ER Department and Cancer Program) Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre in London and the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. Visitation will be this Thursday, November 14th at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. from 3-5pm and 7-9pm with prayers at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 15th from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service at 12:30pm at the Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church Gracanica (1960 Meldrum Rd. at Tecumseh Rd. E.) with Very Rev. Fr. Milorad Delic officiating. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations can be made to ECSA (Essex County Soccer Association) for a post-secondary scholarship to be named in his honour.
