Obituary of Ajit Kaur Mahngar

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ajit Kaur Mahngar (nee Rakkar) on
November 8th, 2024 at the age of 94, beloved wife of the late Dr Kehar Singh Mahngar. 

Ajit was a strong, resilient, nurturing, and intelligent woman who adored her family and will be forever remembered by those who loved her. She was a devout Amritdhari Sikh who gently instilled her devotion to Waheguru (god) into the lives of all those around her. For 37 years, Ajit called Windsor her home; she had a strong sense of community, built a large social network, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Ajit was a loving mother to the late Sukhbir Kaur Somal (w/o late Sarinderpal Singh Somal), Jagbir Kaur Gill (w/o Harjit Singh Gill), Jasbir Singh Mahngar (h/o Amarjit Kaur Mahngar), and Karamvir Singh Mahngar (h/o Jasdeep Kaur Mahngar)

She leaves behind her grandchildren: Anudeep Kaur Heer (w/o Balbir Singh Heer), Jagdeep Singh Somal (h/o Gurpreet Kaur Somal), Harbir Kaur Rangi (w/o Samarjeet Singh Rangi), Jagjit Singh Gill (h/o Pardeep Kaur Gill), Navneet Kaur Gill, Amleek Kaur Mahngar-Kainth (w/o Tejinder Singh Kainth), Bhavneet Kaur Mahngar (w/o Aftab Shahsingh), Kevinjeet Singh Mahngar (h/o Simran Kaur Grewal), Jaskiran Kaur Mahngar (w/o Damien Bizeau), Raveen Kaur Mahngar, and Navraj Singh Mahngar

Ajit was also the loving great grandmother of Justin Singh Heer, Jevan Singh Heer, Jayden Singh Heer, Amraj Singh Somal, Gurraj Singh Somal, Sahib Singh Rangi, Apaar Kaur Rangi, Pavandeep Singh Gill, Sanjeevan Kaur Gill, Asees Kaur Gill, Samar Kaur Kainth, and Serena Kaur Bizeau.

Please join us at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel (3048 Dougall Ave, Windsor) to commemorate her, on Thursday November 14, 2024 between 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Cremation to follow at Windsor Crematorium (1100 Division Road, Windsor). Followed by Antim Ardas and Langar at Gurdwara Khalsa Prakash (7955 County Road 42, Maidstone)
