Obituary of Mijo "Mike" Mihalic

MIHALIC, Mijo "Mike" It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Mijo, a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, on November 2, 2024, at the age of 92. Beloved husband to Katica (nee Vlasic) with whom he celebrated 65 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted father to Bozica "Betty" Mihalic (2018), and Linda Laurie and husband James of Glenview, Illinois. Cherished "Dida" to Deanna Sarapa and husband Milan of Windsor, Reese Laurie, and Gavin Laurie; both of Glenview, Illinois. Great-Grandfather to Mileja Sarapa. Mijo is predeceased by parents Nikola and Mara Mihalic, and his siblings Magda, Danica, Vlado, Ivan and Vida. Mike was a retired employee of Chrysler Canada with over 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church and Unifor Local 444. Visitation at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
