Obituary of Ervin Desjardins
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ervin “Pete” Desjardins on October 31, 2024 at the age of 92. He is reunited with his first wife, Lucille Blanche (nee Mailloux) (1979), and late spouse Rose Marie (nee Lesperance) (2020).
Adored deeply by his children Patricia (Jim) Anger, Karen, late Mike (2015), Fr. Leonard, Doug (Laurie), Lisa (Tom) Rindlisbacher, Laurie (late Ron) McCollom. Forever cherished by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Pete was born to Israel and Ida Desjardins on October 25, 1932. Dear brother to Phillip, Leonard, Henry, Georgie, Russell, Theresa, Eleanor, Dora and Betty. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Pete was known for his unwavering love and support for his children, grandchildren and extended family. A man of endless optimism and positive influence to all who knew him. His dedication to the Detroit Tigers had us wishing they would take the World Series this year. He was also very well known for being a prankster and creative joke teller. He shared many fond memories and pride in his work with Champion Spark Plug and Colonial Tool. He was also a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Extendicare Tecumseh for their many years of outstanding care and compassion for Pete.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Parish on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 1:30pm. Cremation will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in Pete’s honour would be appreciated by the family to the Alzheimer Society.
