Obituary of Joseph "Stan" "Stosh" MacDonnell
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the death of our Husband, Dad and Papa. Stan passed away surrounded by his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years Sally (nee Parker). Children Michael Whalen, (Lori), Moira Getty (Dean), Donalda Turner (Bryon), Jim MacDonnell (Lucy). Proud Papa and Pops to Brittany, Raylene, Christopher, Karen, Emma, Klara and Monika. Great Grandpa to Malcolm, Jack and Luke. Brother Lennie (Brenda) MacDonnell and his little buddy Mr. Sylvester. Predeceased by his parents John D. MacDonnell and Mary Catherine (MacKinnon). Siblings Donald Gregory, Thomas and Catherine "Caddie" Born Judique, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia moved to Ontario 1965 Stan worked at Chryslers from 1965-2001, 36 years as an electrical repairman in Trim, proud member of Unifor Local 444. Never one to be still his retirement was full. Working at his son's shop (grass cutter, shop cleaner, ad man and social greeter, always the inventor to make any job better) His passion was golf, his family and enjoying his grandchildren.
Grateful for Stan to have spent his final days at Hospice in Windsor, incredible care and compassion like no other was shown to him and our family that will never be forgotten. Thank you to Samantha, Dad's PSW for your wonderful care VON, 6th floor Doctors and nurses Met Campus.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E) from 5:00 - 9:00pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) from 10:30-11:00am with a funeral mass immediately following at 11:00am.
