Obituary of Yolande Vanden Berghe

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth 'Yolande' Vanden Berghe (Charette) who passed away at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus on October 16, 2024 just a few days before her 100th Birthday.

Yolande was the daughter of the late Octave and Rose-Aimee St. Gelais.

Loving wife of the late Isaie Charette (1991) and the late Bruno Vanden Berghe (2012).

Dear mother of John Charette (Mers), late Raymond Charette (2015), Patricia Poisson Gravelle (late Larry 2018), late Linda Charette (1973), Christine MacLean (Larry Tremblay)  (late Terry 2000), Marguerite Charette, Doris Desmarais (late Guy 2008), and Robert (Kim) Charette.

Loving grandmother of Wayne (Tena), Michel (Michelle), Doug (Laura), Stacey (Don), Francois (Nicole), Jason (Franca), Tracey (Greg), Nicole (Hassan), Danielle (Ken), Matt (Jen), Kara (Ryan), Erica, 27 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Predeceased by siblings Rita (Raymond) St. Pierre, Lillian (Gilbert) Ringrose, Dorice (surviving Denis) Caplice, and Alex (Terry) St. Gelais.

Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Yolande will be remembered for her love of her family, love of the outdoors, and taking care of her flowers and cats.

Thank you to the staff at Extendicare Tecumseh, psw's and nurses on the Oldcastle unit, and the 7th floor nurses at Met Hospital, all for their care and compassion in taking care of our mom.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. Windsor, on Sunday October 20, 2024 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm with a funeral mass taking place at St. Anne's Parish in Tecumseh on Monday October 21, at 11:00am with an interment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery.
