Obituary of Caterina Mazzara

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Caterina Mazzara into the arms of the Lord on October 11, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Reunited with her first husband Salvatore Ciaravino (1974) and her second husband Mario Mazzara (2017). Beloved mother to Enza (Lloyd) Crain, and Bridget (Tony) Lahoud. Cherished step mother to Rosanna (Giuseppe) Ruggirello, late Frank (Eleanor) Mazzara, Josie (late Mike) Lizotte, and Carmela (Gord) Krautner. Loving nonna to Ryan, Adam, Eric, Vince, Mario, Felicia, Andrew, Julia, Erin, Zachary, and Jill. Cherished bis-nonna to 16 loving great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Canada and Italy. Mom was full of life’s energy and joy, which she displayed to everyone. Her priority was always her family. There were always plenty of hugs, kisses and great food. There was no denying the love she had for her family and those she surrounded herself with. A special thank you to Southwood Lakes Extendicare for their care and concern for mom over the last 6 years. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7234) on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation in memory of Caterina may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Windsor-Essex.
