Obituary of Donald Dumais

It is with sorrow that the family announces the passing of Donald Dumais on October 10, 2024, in Windsor at the age of 81 years old. Son of late Leo and Jeanne (nee Grenier). Survived by Bernice (nee Bomhof), his loving wife of 60 years and his children Nicole and David (Rebecca). Brother to Rick (deceased), Carl (deceased) and predeceased by sisters Susan (Bobby) and Lorraine (Greg). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Donald worked hard in his career as an Estimator and Project Manager for a conveyor system company, which took his family between Ontario and Quebec, before he landed permanently in Windsor.

He also played hard. He played baseball and broomball, but his passion for hockey cannot be overstated, especially for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Donald (nickname "Too Tall") himself played hockey to the age of 72, until he could no longer due to developing Parkinson Disease. When not playing sports, he loved to play cards (euchre and cribbage) and going dancing every Saturday night at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255.

He was a wonderful husband and father. He will also be remembered for being a little man with a big heart who had a great sense of humour and a lot of friends. A wonderful man who lightened up all who knew him and a great friend to many, especially his best friend, Jerry Mascarin. The family would like to thank all the PSWs who came to the house and those at Extendicare's ller Long Term Care Home for their care over the past four months. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell Location, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor (519-253-7235) on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Following the visitation, the Chapel Service will take place at 8:00m p.m. in the funeral home.
