SIRIANNI, Giovanni (John)

January 28, 1931 - September 28, 2024

Surrounded by his loving family, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Nonno and Bisnonno. Born in Pietrafitta, Cosenza, Italy on January 28,1931 and called home into eternal life on September 28, 2024 at the age of 93. Cherished and devoted husband of Ondina Sirianni, with whom he shared nearly 70 years of marriage. Devoted and loving father of Nino (Patti) and Gianna Gualtieri (Tony). Loved Nonno to Kelli Koski (Steven), Christina and Hollie. Adored Bisnonno to Nina. Dear son of the late Giuseppe and Emilia Sirianni, and son-in-law of the late Gaetano and Emilia Cipparrone. Cherished brother to Pasquale (Vittoria) and Maria LoFaso (Angelo). Survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Canada and Belgium.

Immigrating from Italy in 1960, Giovanni worked very hard to build a successful life for his family. Initially finding work in farming and construction, he ultimately dedicated 25+ years of his life working for the Greater Essex County District School Board as a Custodian. His dedication to the job was greatly appreciated by the many Principals and Teachers he befriended. Giovanni was an avid story-teller, wine-maker and gardener, finding great joy in working the land and planting his yearly vegetable garden.

Visitation at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. and 7:00 -9:00 p.m. Parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home then in procession to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave., Windsor, ON.) for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. A live stream link of Giovanni's Funeral Mass may be viewed here. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum.
