Obituary of Maria Mastromattei

With saddened hearts the family of Maria Mastromattei (nee Carlini) announce her passing on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Gennaro, and loving mother of Linda Cinat (Bruno), Andy Mastromattei, Tom Mastromattei (Debbie). Maria was a cherished grandmother of Melissa Renaldo (Matt), Bianca Mancina (Frank), Jake Mastromattei (2018), Dillon Mastromattei, Julia and Joshua Mastromattei, and great grandmother to Matteo, Massimo, Isabella, Gennaro, and Giovanni. Dear sister of Armando Carlini (Carol). Maria is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her passion was cooking and baking for her family and friends.

Maria and Gennaro enjoyed traveling and exploring together. They were active members of the Ciociaro Club, never missing a banquet. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life, although she was known as Nonna to everyone.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the PSWs at Home Instead, the LHIN nurses and E shift PSWs, the nurses at hospice on Prince Rd for their love and care in her final days.

Visitation to take place at Windsor Chapel - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E, 519-253-7234) on Monday September 23rd 2024 from 2pm-5pm, and 7pm-9pm, with Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Services on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 10:15am from the Funeral Home then to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (804 Grand Marais Rd.) for Funeral Mass at 11a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations in Maria’s memory can be made to the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation - Palliative Care.
