Obituary of Ernest Bacon

The family of Ernest Bacon are sad to announce his peaceful passing on September 19, 2024 at the age of 90 years old.  Ernest "Nes" was born and raised in Tecumseh, ON, the last of nine children of the late Armand and Emma Bacon.  

He is survived by his cherished wife of 63 years, Alma (nee Lavin) Bacon.  Nes described Alma as his "angel" as she took care of him throughout his life.

Devoted father of Yvette (Kevin) McCarthy, Annie (Paul) Lemire, Michael (Diane) Bacon, Pat (Wendy) Bacon, and Lizanne (Dan) Lebedyk.  Nes also loved Bernadette (Ron) Forfitt like an 'adopted daughter'.

Loving Pepe to 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, plus two on the way.

Nes loved having visitors and making them laugh.  He liked working in his woodshop, making hundreds of birdhouses in his final years.  Nes enjoyed many winters with Alma in Florida and summers at their trailer.  He enjoyed baseball, antiques, golf and sitting outside.  Mostly, he was thankful for his family and friends.  He loved seeing all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren as they made him happy.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. in Windsor on Sunday September 22, 2024 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm with vigil prayers taking place at 7:30pm.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Anne's Parish, 12233 Tecumseh Rd E in Windsor on Monday September 23, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation at the church one hour prior to mass.  Cremation will follow the service.  Donations made in memory of Ernest to the Habitat for Humanity Windsor Essex would be appreciated.
